STILL - LIFE


If I were to celebrate only the sounds

     of which this language in rhyme abounds,

Then I might write in such fine form

     that academic tradition might adorn

Impressionable minds to thus constrain

     that all other forms appear as vain

Pursuit of false and useless indulgence:

     thus do dead poets wreak their vengeance.
