Gray Evolution | Poem

Gray Evolution

Sometimes colors fall like liquid clay
into the nature of the day
an ethereal moment
all existence is truth
sharply invading consciousness
as thought in feeling
deeply now beyond reach
it evades detection
stopping flow and reason

no one can know it fully
nor can they say I know it,
held it in my hand or heart

but I was touched by it
and for an instant turned gray
and knew gray
I fell into the day
then fell away
