Watching Storm Clouds | Poem

A 1 Poetry

July 5, 1999

by Robert N. Erman

WATCHING STORM CLOUDS

the tao like water
always the high place
being brought low
that is the way
the water migrates

and the low place passive
to being filled
deaf to how much thunder it takes

lightning snake strikes along the ridge
all these clouds are hung with virgas
medusa dreadlocks
rain that evaporates still in air
just by looking up at them
the land below has turned to stone
